My Introduction
Hi, I'm Rebecca.
I saw the advertisement of the forum on Kate at The Neverending Shelf's blog and I thought it was a really neat idea because I too love talking about books but don't really know where I can go to talk to anyone else who loves books as much as I do. I'm not sure what else to say but I'll use the suggestion.

Re: Introduction Post Ideas
Hey everybody!
I am pretty excited about this new forum stuff, and love meeting new people. Great introductions so far!
I tweaked my template a little from the original format because although I love, love, love YA, I haven't gotten the chance to explore the genre as much as I want to, and still do a lot of other genre reading. This is one of the main reasons why I joined. I want to expand my reading lists and be able to read more YA in the upcoming year. Anyways, great meeting you all!

Favorite YA book this year: At the moment, I'd have to say...Twenty Boy Summer? But only because it is the most recent one I've read My favorites usually change about once a week.
Favorite Author: I don't have one favorite author, and I could never narrow it down to one YA author either, so here is a bunch of random authors that I just love: Jennifer Crusie, Nicholas Sparks, Lisa McMann, Margeret Mitchell, Jane Austen, William Sheakespeare, Lori Foster, Agatha Christie, Stephenie Meyer, J.K. Rowling, Sarah Ockler, etc.
happy reading everyone

Re: Introduction Post Ideas
Greetings & Salutations.
I'm Rachel - but seeing as that is a painfully boring and over-used name - I tend to go by my middle name of 'Melinda' or the affectionate nickname of 'Curly' ( of the Three Stooges ) or Opa which is a shorter version of one of my handle-names on the world wide web.
I'm 20 years old & I'm located in the great state of Arkansas ( which very few people know where it is - sad but true ) . I'm female - seeing as I've yet to come across a male with my name. If you're name is Rachel & you're a boy let me know though.
I own a blog however - I tend to just use it to make wish-lists - cause I'm weird like that.
My favorite YA book varies & changes often but as or right now - it would have to be 'Wondrous Strange' by Lesley Livingston.
As far as book recommendations go - I always tend to suggest Fantasy novels - & subject matter is near always fae/faeries or vampires 99.9% of the time - the other 0.01% I suggest are usually older novels such as 'Lord of the Rings' or 'The Chronicles of Narnia'.
If I had to narrow it down to one book though - I would always, always recommend 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' by William Shakespeare.
What can I say? - I'm a sucker for his writing style. Plus *cough*faeries*cough* & it helped in my reading of Wondrous Strange to have read this book.

Hello All
I'm excited about the prospect of a forum to talk about YA books, and I'm excited that it's just getting started. Something about being there at the beginning makes me feel less overwhelmed by the content, etc.
